This project falls within the Hampstead Garden Trust Area located in the Borough of Barnet. Once again, we worked with the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust Authority as well as with English Heritage and with the London Borough of Barnet, including both their Planning and their Building Control departments.

This high-end residential conversion, of an existing historical period building, included a full internal restructuring as well as the insertion of an additional full sized basement addition.  A second phase later achieved consent for a Rear Ground Floor extension which was built.

Light was injected right through the building with the inclusion of full-length roof lights running from front to back coupled to a matching glazed slot of ‘trafficable’ glass flooring which allows light to penetrate right down into the basement. The house includes many detailed and bespoke elements such as the timber metal and glass staircase, sliding folding doors and panelled light well etc. There is a fully automated lighting system and air-conditioning.
